Fabrics/Textiles
Building-in Fire Protection to a new or existing structure is of paramount importance - but most fires are caused, or spread by soft furnishings. Even with modern fabric blends and manufacturing techniques, fabrics and foams are still combustible and should be considered a much higher fire risk than building materials.
Here at No-Burn we have been spreading this message to Fire Departments, Legislators and Insurance Companies in an effort to identify and thus minimise this much overlooked area of fire protection.
We have researched and developed a product that will give much needed fire resistive qualities to all fabrics and textiles, even those that claim to be fire resistant through its manufacturing process.
Fabric Fire Gard can be used in the manufacturing process, or as an upgrading ‘tool’ to ensure soft furnishings can be used across borders – for example, items manufactured and tested in the USA will not meet the stringent new UK fire codes. Fabric Fire Gard is approved by the UK Fire Service to be used in an upgrading program, thus enabling imported furniture to be sold and used in the UK, pursuant to independent testing by FIRA – the ‘Furniture Industry Research Association.’
Fabric Fire Gard is used in the home, automobiles, trains, aircraft, hotels, healthcare facilities and maritime craft.
