Concrete

Up until very recently, concrete pillars and columns have been considered almost exempt from EU Fire Safety Laws, given that it is inherently non-combustible.

However, recent events have shown that in very intense fires concrete does allow heat transfer to the steel inside, which can cause loss of steel integrity, buckling and collapse. This is increasingly so with today’s lower-gauge or slimline columns.

NB Plus has been proven to give added fire resistance to concrete columns by reducing the surface temperature and heat transfer of concrete in a fire. It is a simple spray-on application which can be applied at the very end of the build cycle at minimal cost and interference.

In conjunction with Approved Third Party top-coats, it can be used in high impact and Carbon-heavy environments such as car parks, in particular below-ground.
