Member States across the European Union have ageing transport systems; some are much worse than others, where funding is not yet available to update the rolling stock.
However, new EU Regulations governing the Safety of such train carriages require a certain level of Fire Safety from the chairs/carpets therein/. Replacement of fabrics in an aging carriage is not feasible for a number of reasons; it may not be physically possible to replace chairs or, most often, it does not fiscal sense to invest in new chairs for an old carriage when the carriage itself is due for replacement within 5 years. This could provide a dichotomy; however No-Burn has worked to provide a cost-effective solution that is also very workable in terms of rollout, sometimes with no ‘out of service’ time at all.
