Many new Member States of the European have untapped Tourism potential, with many countries previously falling outside the usual destinations for mainstream tourists. The European Parliament has provided funding frameworks to help stimulate these ‘new’ destinations, involving not only the requried infrastructure for accessibility (see Infrastructure page), but also renovation of existing buildings and construction of new tourism centres. Fire Safety is central to this, due to the high volume of public traffic. No-Burn products are being specified to not only the new structures, but perhaps more importantly to the existing buildings, which are most often old, timberframed/clad, structures with great historical value/importance, which could never be replaced if ever ravaged by Fire.
