| Energy - Powerstations
Most Reactors within a Power Station are very well protected in terms of Safety, in all its guises. However, we noticed that on most plants, there is a Risk from what we call the ‘Fuse Effect’. The ‘Fuse Effect’ is in essence the Risk of Fire from buildings across the plant that are connected in some way back to the Reactor – if a Fire occurs in one of these buildings, it can create a ‘fuse’ with the fire very rapidly finding it’s way to the Reactor.
NB Plus provided the solution, creating a giant fire break throughout the ‘fuse’, which would either stop the fire in its tracks, or at worst decrease the spread of the fire by hours, allowing for evacuation and extinguishment.
