Offices, receptions, shopping malls, ocean liners…. Spaces where, at Christmas, seasonal displays are prevalent. During the last few years, Fire Depts have stepped up their assessment of the Fire Safety of such installations, considering them now to be extremely high risk.
Most decorations and displays are either manufactured outside of Europe and /or are made using high levels of flammable materials. There have also been numerous instances where items imported from the Far East, which came complete with UK Fire Labels, when tested failed miserably.
Fire Depts now take the view that the safest way to ensure compliance with Fire Regulations is to have such displays treated by an independent Fire Protection company, using accredited products.
